Spotlight on Edge Protection
When you’re about to ship a pallet of product, you can just slap some cardboard on the corners and edges and call it good. Right?
Unfortunately, that would probably lead to some headaches – both on the sender’s end and the receiver’s end. That’s why edge protection is so important! Without proper edge protection, you can not only have broken or ruined product, but also be unkind to the environment and cause dangerous warehouse situations.
When looking into edge protection, how do you decide what variety to use? The shape and size of your load should determine which kind is best for your application. If you have a traditional rectangle-shaped load, angleboard or cornerboard might be right for you. More oddly shaped or difficult to ship items might require u-channel, honeycomb, or corrugated buildup, depending on the load.
At Packaging Incorporated, not only do we have all of these options available, but we’ll consult with you on what’s going to work out the best for you. We’re experts at this sort of thing, and we want to make sure you’re using the right products for your application.
Trying to be environmentally friendly? Great! We have options for you. Some of our products use recycled products such as pop bottles, juice cartons and milk jugs to offer you moisture-resistant, down-gauged edge protection.
