In Packaging, Every Day is Earth Day
In the past couple years, the whole packaging industry has made some amazing strides toward being more thoughtful and respectful toward our environment. Every year, we’re amazed at the new sustainable materials that are being experimented with and used in real production. We’re so intrigued as to what the rest of 2016 will bring!
If you haven’t yet thought about how sustainable the materials you use are, it’s time. Consumers (and even other companies if you’re B2B) are beginning to expect sustainable practices, and are more likely to buy from or work with those who use them. It’s a huge plus and can be such a fantastic way to impress those who receive your product. Adding information about being sustainable to your website can also help build trust and fuzzy feelings with potential customers/prospects.
So, in honor of Earth Day, look at your packaging materials right now. What’s not sustainable? In this day and age, there’s most certainly a more Earth-friendly product out there.
A great example of an innovative, sustainable product is Angleboard. This edge protection is both recyclable and made from recyclable materials, and using proper, strong edge protection can help you reduce your secondary packaging. Reducing the amount of packaging you use overall, whether it’s recyclable and sustainable or not, is a great way to reduce your impact on the environment!
Of course, any time we talk about sustainable packaging, we have to mention Ranpak. Their paper packaging material is 100% recyclable, renewable and biodegradable. This in combination with the fact that it’s ridiculously easy to use and protects so well inside the box makes it one of our all-time favorite packaging materials.
